We built a SaaS for statistical PERT project estimation with AI assistance. Full cycle: architecture, design system, frontend, backend, integrations with AI agents, and launch.



Estix.ai came in with a clear idea: teams still estimate projects in spreadsheets, lose data, and can't justify the numbers to clients. They needed a full-fledged SaaS where the entire process — from brief to final estimate — happens in one place.
Estix.ai came to us not with a marketing request, but with a product one: build a SaaS from scratch. The team had a clear vision of a product that would replace chaotic spreadsheets with a structured workspace powered by PERT methodology (three-point estimates) and an AI assistant that generates scope from a plain-text brief.
The task for our team — close the full cycle: architecture, design system, frontend, backend, authentication, integrations with AI agents, result export, share-link, billing. And do it at an iteration tempo that allows shipping updates weekly.
The team didn’t need outsource development — they needed a product partner that fully owns the technical side.
The starting constraints were specific:
We worked as a product team, not as a contractor. We split the work into phases with regular releases, focused on letting the user close the full path — from brief to PDF export — in a single day.
Phase 1 — Architecture and foundation. Set up the monorepo, picked the stack (Next.js 16 App Router, TypeScript, Postgres, server actions), built the authentication system, the Project → Scope → Tasks data models, and a design system with a signature cream/coral palette.
Phase 2 — Estimation engine. Implemented the statistical PERT logic (tE = (O + 4M + P) / 6, σ, P50/P80/P95 confidence targets), estimate composition (Dev + Discovery + PM + QA + Contingency), and live calculations with reactive updates.
Phase 3 — AI assistant. Integrated AI agents to generate scope from a pasted brief, with automatic breakdown into leaf tasks and suggestions for each task.
Phase 4 — Share & Export. Export to PDF/HTML/Excel, share-link with server rendering for read-only views, stakeholder-friendly format.
We work in a continuous cycle: weekly releases, joint planning sessions, a direct channel with the client’s product team.
